This online workshop explores how early childhood educators can support the development of early literacy and numeracy skills through play and adult initiated focused learning engagements. By acknowledging young learners as active meaning makers, we recognize they bring experiences, understandings and curiosities to our schools that draw on many different symbolic modalities. When we encouraging these multimodal literacies through play, we provide opportunities for children to explore, built and expand their competencies with regards to early literacy and numeracy.
It will be delivered over 4 two-hour sessions on February 12th, 19th and 16th and March 5th.
