Entangled Agencies Workshop presented by Anne van Dam as part of the online Early Years Online Conference 2021.

Children often recognize the previous function of recyclable materials, quickly see new possibilities and use these materials in new and unexpected ways. During this online workshop, documentation of young children working with recyclable materials will be shared and discussed among the group of participants.

Our attention will be drawn to the value of the learning process in which children play, learn and imagine with recyclable materials. Häikiö (2007) describes them as materials that offer both ‘resistance and challenge’, emphasizing their capacity to influence creating and constructing processes.
